The Story

Joslet Bastien is a 27 year old man living in Velo, Haiti.
He has been in an accident that has bound him permanently to a wheelchair. His dream was to become a football player.

Since the accident he has helped the children in his village and trained them with his knowledge of football to
become football players and team players. His goal is it to walk again and to support himself and his team.

How the Project came to life

Some years ago the Dominican director and screenwriter Josias Dominguez came across Joslet, when he was visiting the street
"La internactional" with his family. He never forgot the inspiring young man in the wheelchair he met on this trip.
Recently the Photographer and Filmmaker Francesca Willbrand and him decided to tell his story and are currently on a mission to make an impact for him and his community.

The short Film will be available with English, Spanish and Creol subtitles. We are feeling very honoured to have been able to have our Film in Haitian Creol as it's the nativ langue of Joselo and the children.

2023 Fundarsing & Now

We are currently fundraising for the children of Velo, Haiti, to provide them with the opportunity to play football safely and walk comfortably with proper shoes. Our aim is to support Joslet's efforts in empowering the children in his community and helping them achieve their dreams. To accomplish this, we have partnered with be.cause and their award-winning product, The Shoe That Grows, which expands up to 5 sizes!

Our goal is to raise funds for 30 pairs of shoes: 15 pairs for the boys and 15 pairs for the girls in the village of Velo, Haiti.
